For organizations, Playback Theatre is a potent vehicle to celebrate success, process change, problem-solve, grieve loss and share hope. For example, in medical schools, Playback Theatre has been employed to reconnect students to their original dreams of becoming doctors. At conferences, Playback Theatre provides an aesthetic and entertaining arena for people to share and reflect upon their experiences. In corporations, Playback Theatre is a particularly effective change management tool which can be applied to a variety of different circumstances: to humanize the effects of a merger or reorganization; to say goodbye to someone who is retiring; to celebrate the achievements of a group.

Playback Theatre performances generally run ninety minutes. The setting can be flexible, from a large room to an auditorium. Stories may be focused on a particular theme, pertinent to the issues of your organization, or open-ended.

Past commissioned performances have been for the Hoopa Tribe, the San Francisco County Jail, Battered Women’s Alternatives, Seneca Center, Center for Elder’s Independence, Ecole Bilingue, California Institute of Integral Studies, Sonoma State University, the National Association for Drama Therapy, the American Society of Group Psychotherapy and Psychodrama, School for the Deaf in FremontCAMFT, Nokia, NADTA (drama therapy association), Genocide Conference at Sacramento State, Expressive Arts Therapy conference in LA, Pamona college workshop and performance, Story telling Festival in Tennessee, the Bay Area story telling festival, World Transactional Analysis Conference in San Francisco, Healing the Wounds of Bullying: A Performance of Poetry and Playback Theatre, and California Society of Addiction Medicine.
